*1 glass · 5 min*

**In short:** An Espresso Martini takes 50 ml vodka, 30 ml coffee liqueur, 30 ml fresh espresso and 10 ml sugar syrup. Shake everything hard over ice for 15–20 seconds, strain into a chilled glass and top with three coffee beans. The thick foam comes from fresh espresso and a vigorous shake; it takes about 5 minutes.

## Ingredients

- Vodka — 50 ml
- Coffee liqueur — 30 ml
- Espresso — 30 ml, freshly brewed
- Sugar syrup — 10 ml
- Ice — for the shaker
- Coffee beans — 3, to garnish
- Granulated sugar — for syrup, optional
- Dark chocolate — grated, optional

## Method

1. Chill the glass (a coupe or a small cup), without ice, in the fridge or freezer.
2. Brew a fresh espresso (about 30 ml) and add it to the shaker straight away; the foam comes from the crema of freshly made coffee.
3. Add 50 ml vodka, 30 ml coffee liqueur and 10 ml sugar syrup. If you have no syrup, dissolve equal parts sugar and hot water and let it cool.
4. Fill the shaker with ice, close it and shake as hard as you can for 15–20 seconds, until the outside is frosty.
5. Strain through a fine sieve (double strain) into the cold glass; a thick layer of foam should form on top.
6. Place 3 coffee beans on the foam and serve right away.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why doesn't my Espresso Martini form a foam?

Usually the espresso isn't fresh or the shake isn't hard enough. Add the espresso to the shaker as soon as it's brewed and shake over ice for at least 15 seconds as hard as you can; the crema of fresh coffee builds the foam.

### What can I use if I don't have a shaker?

A jar with a tight lid works: add the ingredients and ice, close it firmly and shake for 15–20 seconds. Then pour through a fine tea strainer into the glass.

### Can I make a non-alcoholic Espresso Martini?

Yes: replace the vodka and liqueur with 50 ml of cold brew coffee, add 10–15 ml of syrup and shake hard over ice. The foam may be a little thinner; serve with coffee beans on top.

### Can I change the list?

Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.

### Do I need an account?

No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.

### How long is the list kept?

As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.

### Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
