Moving checklist — from boxes to your first night
Most time on a moving day is lost to supplies that someone only notices at the last minute. This list covers everything from packing to your first night in the new place, and with a room code everyone sees who is buying and who is packing what.
In short
A move calls for boxes, packing tape, stretch wrap, bubble wrap, packing paper, markers and labels, plus cleaning supplies, trash bags, a toolbox and a first-night bag. Starting to pack two weeks ahead with the things you use least, and labelling every box with the room it's headed for, makes moving day noticeably easier.
16 items go straight into your new room; delete what you don't need, add what's missing. No account needed.

Tips
Start packing two weeks ahead, beginning with what you use least: off-season clothes, books and decorations.
Put heavy things in small boxes and light things in large ones, so every box stays easy to carry and the bottom doesn't give way.
Tell your electricity, water, internet and gas providers the moving date in advance, and update your address the same week.
Split the moving day: one person does the final check at the old place while the other directs boxes to the right rooms in the new one.
How it works
1. Open your room
Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.
2. Share the code
Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.
3. Finish it together
Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.
Frequently asked questions
How should you label moving boxes?
Write the destination room and a short summary of the contents on every box, and add a clear mark for fragile items. Put the label on the side as well as the top, because the lids are hidden once boxes are stacked.
What goes in a first-night bag?
Whatever you need on your first evening and next morning: toothbrush and toiletries, a towel, bedding, a change of clothes, chargers, toilet paper, water and a snack. Keep the toolbox and a spare bulb within easy reach too.
How do you pack fragile things like plates and glasses?
Wrap each piece separately in bubble wrap or paper and line the bottom of the box with crumpled paper. Stand plates on their edge rather than flat, fill any gaps so nothing shifts, and mark the box as fragile.
Can I change the list?
Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.
Do I need an account?
No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.
How long is the list kept?
As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.
Can I install it on my phone?
Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
