Pantry stock-up list — long-lasting food to be prepared
A well-stocked pantry removes the midweek "there's nothing at home" panic and the expensive last-minute shop. This list gathers long-shelf-life, versatile staples, and with a room code everyone in the household can see who bought what. No sign-up needed.
In short
To stock a pantry, buy long-lasting staples: rice, bulgur, pasta, flour, dried pulses (lentils, chickpeas, beans), olive and cooking oil, tomato paste, tinned food, sugar, salt, tea and oats. Store everything somewhere cool, dry and dark; put new purchases at the back and older ones at the front (first in, first out), and check dates once a month.
19 items go straight into your new room; delete what you don't need, add what's missing. No account needed.

Tips
First in, first out: put new purchases at the back of the shelf and older ones at the front, and use those first.
Write the date on a pack the day you open it; decanting flour, rice and pulses into airtight jars protects them from damp and pests.
Keep the pantry cool, dry and dark; next to the oven, the hob or a window food goes off quickly.
Once a month, count the shelves and check the dates; move anything near its date to the front and plan a meal around it. Stock only what you will really eat.
How it works
1. Open your room
Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.
2. Share the code
Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.
3. Finish it together
Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.
Frequently asked questions
How long can food be kept in the pantry?
It depends on the product: dried pulses and rice usually keep for a year or two, flour and bulgur from a few months to a year; tins carry a date on the pack. Always follow the date on the packaging, and don't eat anything whose smell, colour or texture has changed.
What is the "first in, first out" rule?
It means putting newly bought items at the back of the shelf and older ones at the front, and using those first. That way nothing gets forgotten at the back and goes out of date, and it is the simplest way to cut waste in the pantry.
How do I keep pests and moths out of the pantry?
Keep flour, rice and pulses in airtight jars, keep the shelves clean and dry and don't mix new stock with old. If you spot an infestation, throw that product away, wipe the shelf and check the packs nearby.
Can I change the list?
Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.
Do I need an account?
No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.
How long is the list kept?
As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.
Can I install it on my phone?
Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
