Wedding planning checklist — from venue to favors

A wedding is months of small tasks, and the hardest part is knowing who has already taken care of what. Share this list with your partner, family and best friends with a room code so everyone ticks off their own share. No sign-up needed.

In short

Start wedding planning at least 6 to 12 months ahead: first settle the date, budget and guest count, then book the venue and the ceremony. Photographer, band or DJ, catering menu, dress and suit, rings, bouquet, hair and makeup follow. Schedule the fittings a few weeks before the wedding, and add the witnesses, cake, favors and honeymoon to the list.

19 items go straight into your new room; delete what you don't need, add what's missing. No account needed.

Tips

  • Choose the date with season and weekday in mind: venues and photographers are easier to book, and often cheaper, midweek or in winter.

  • Pin down the guest count early; the cost of food per head is the biggest budget item and every extra guest raises the total.

  • Do the dress and suit fittings a few weeks before the wedding, so there is still time for a last-minute alteration.

  • Ask the registry office early which documents you need and how long they stay valid, before you book the appointment.

  • Watch real wedding work from the photographer and band before signing, and get the cancellation terms in writing.

How it works

  1. 1. Open your room

Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.

  2. 2. Share the code

Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.

  3. 3. Finish it together

Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should you book a wedding venue?

Usually 6 to 12 months ahead. Summer, weekends and popular dates fill up earliest, while midweek and winter dates are easier to book and often cheaper.

When should wedding invitations be sent?

Usually four to eight weeks before the wedding. Give guests who must travel from another city or country notice earlier, so they can plan travel and time off.

How do you plan a wedding budget?

Start with the total budget and the guest count: the cost of food per head is usually the biggest item, and every extra guest raises the total. Setting aside around 10 percent of the budget for unexpected costs is a common approach.

Can I change the list?

Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.

Do I need an account?

No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.

How long is the list kept?

As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.

Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
