Ski trip packing list — nothing forgotten on the slopes

A missing glove or pair of goggles can ruin a whole day in the mountains, and replacements on the slopes are expensive. This list covers clothing, equipment, skincare and documents, and with a room code your group sees who has packed what. No sign-up needed.

In short

For a ski trip, pack a ski jacket and pants, thermal underwear, ski socks, gloves, a beanie, a neck gaiter, goggles and a helmet. If you'll rent equipment, sort out the lift pass, lessons and ski insurance too. Because sun reflects strongly off snow, bring high-SPF sunscreen, lip balm and a thermos.

20 items go straight into your new room; delete what you don't need, add what's missing. No account needed.

Tips

  • Check the piste and weather bulletin every morning, and stay off-piste on days with avalanche or poor-visibility risk.

  • Dress in layers: a breathable base layer, an insulating middle layer and a waterproof shell, and avoid cotton underwear.

  • If you're renting boots, go early on the first day; your toes should be comfortable and your heel held firmly in place.

  • Carry your phone and batteries in an inside pocket close to your body; they drain very quickly in the cold.

How it works

  1. 1. Open your room

Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.

  2. 2. Share the code

Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.

  3. 3. Finish it together

Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.

Frequently asked questions

How many layers should you wear skiing?

Three layers usually work: a breathable base layer that moves sweat away, an insulating middle layer and a waterproof, windproof shell. You can swap the middle layer depending on the temperature, and cotton is best avoided next to the skin because it stays wet and cold.

Is it better to rent or buy ski equipment?

If you only ski once or twice a year, renting is usually cheaper and simpler, and you can pick up skis and boots at a shop near the slopes. If you go often, buying your own boots is worth considering, since fit affects comfort the most.

Do you need separate insurance for a ski trip?

Some travel insurance policies exclude winter sports, so read the terms. Look for cover for piste accidents, search and rescue, and medical transport, or add a ski option to your policy.

Can I change the list?

Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.

Do I need an account?

No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.

How long is the list kept?

As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.

Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
