- Tomato paste2 tbsp
- Red pepper paste1 tbsp
- Spring onions5
- Parsley1 large bunch
- Tomatoes2
- Pomegranate molasses3 tbsp
- Olive oil5 tbsp
- Lemon1
- Dried mint1 tbsp

Method
Put the fine bulgur in a large bowl with the salt. Pour over 1½ cups of boiling water, stir, cover and leave to soak for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, finely chop the spring onions, parsley and tomatoes.
Once the bulgur has absorbed the water and fluffed up, add both pastes and the olive oil; knead by hand for 3–4 minutes until the bulgur turns red and tender.
Add the pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, mint and chili flakes and mix again.
Fold in the chopped herbs and tomatoes. Taste and adjust the salt.
Serve with lettuce leaves; if you can, let it rest 10 minutes so the flavours settle.

Frequently asked questions
How long does kısır keep?
In a covered container in the fridge it keeps about 2 days, 3 at most, but the herbs and tomatoes release water and lose freshness. If you're making it ahead, fold in the herbs and tomatoes close to serving.
Why is my kısır bulgur still hard?
Usually there was too little water or too short a soak. Leave fine bulgur under boiling water, covered, for 15 minutes; if it's still firm, add a tablespoon or two of hot water, wait 5 minutes, then knead.
What can I use instead of pomegranate molasses?
Lemon juice with a teaspoon of grape molasses or honey gets close to its sweet-sour balance. Add it gradually and taste as you go.
Can I change the list?
Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.
Do I need an account?
No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.
How long is the list kept?
As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.
Can I install it on my phone?
Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
