Frequently asked questions

Why did my chocolate cake sink?

Usually the oven door was opened too early, the oven ran too hot, or there was too much baking powder. Keep the door shut for the first 25 minutes and only take the cake out when a toothpick comes out clean.

How do I keep chocolate cake from drying out?

Stop mixing as soon as the lumps are gone and don't bake past the toothpick test. The oil keeps the crumb moist; once the cake has cooled, store it in an airtight container.

How long does chocolate cake keep?

In an airtight container it stays fresh for about 2 days at room temperature and up to 4–5 days in the fridge. Sliced, it freezes well for 2–3 months.

Can I change the list?

Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.

Do I need an account?

No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.

How long is the list kept?

As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.

Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
