Hospital bag checklist — ready for mom and baby

Leaving the bag to the last weeks before the birth is exhausting, so let every need go on the list the moment you think of it. Share it through a room code with your partner or family and it is clear who has covered which gap. No sign-up needed.

In short

A hospital bag holds three groups of things: documents (ID, pregnancy file), items for mom (nightgown, slippers, maternity pads, nursing bra, toiletries, charger, pillow, snacks) and items for baby (onesies, diapers, blanket, hat, going-home outfit). It's usually recommended to have it packed by weeks 34-36, and it's worth checking the hospital's own list too.

16 items go straight into your new room; delete what you don't need, add what's missing. No account needed.

Tips

  • Have the bag ready a few weeks before the due date and keep it somewhere visible near the door, in case the baby comes early.

  • Wash the baby's first clothes beforehand and cut off the tags; pack your own things and the baby's in separate pouches.

  • Keep your ID, pregnancy file and hospital paperwork together in one folder in the front pocket, so nobody has to search on the way.

  • Make sure your partner or a relative knows where the bag is and what's in it, so nobody has to ask again in the rush.

How it works

  1. 1. Open your room

Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.

  2. 2. Share the code

Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.

  3. 3. Finish it together

Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.

Frequently asked questions

When should you pack the hospital bag?

Most sources recommend having it ready between weeks 34 and 36, because labor can sometimes start early. Ask your doctor or midwife what the hospital expects you to bring, and check the hospital's own list.

How many outfits should you pack for the baby?

It depends on the length of the stay; for many families three or four onesies plus a separate going-home outfit is enough. Since the baby's size isn't known beforehand, it helps to pack one newborn size and one slightly bigger.

Is a car seat necessary when leaving the hospital?

In many countries a suitable car seat is required for babies travelling by car, and it is the recommended safe choice anyway. Install it in the car correctly before the birth, and if you're unsure about the fitting, check the manual or ask an expert.

Can I change the list?

Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.

Do I need an account?

No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.

How long is the list kept?

As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.

Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
