Kids' birthday party list — from decorations to cake
The hardest part of a kids' party is the small things left to the last minute: candles, napkins, straws. This list covers everything from decorations to food and games, and with a room code parents and grandparents can split the jobs. No sign-up needed.
In short
A kids' birthday party needs a cake, candles, balloons, a banner, party hats, paper plates and cups, napkins and straws; add juice, mini sandwiches, fruit and cookies for food, and invitations, party games, face paint and party bags for the fun. Sending invitations at least ten days ahead and keeping the party to about two hours works well for most parties.

Tips
Send invitations at least ten days ahead and ask for replies; knowing how many children are coming sets the amount of cake and food.
Keep the party to two hours, with games first and cake and food afterwards, so the children burn off energy and then eat calmly.
Ask the parents about allergies beforehand, such as peanuts, milk or gluten, and choose the food accordingly.
Divide the jobs in advance: one person runs the games, one handles food, one takes photos, so the birthday child is never left alone.
How it works
1. Open your room
Tap the button and the items land in a fresh room. No account, no email, nothing to install.
2. Share the code
Send the room code or the link to the group; everyone's on the same list in seconds.
3. Finish it together
Who's buying what shows up instantly; bought items get ticked, so nobody buys the same thing twice.
Frequently asked questions
How many children should you invite to a kid's birthday party?
A popular rule of thumb is the child's age plus one, so about six children for a five-year-old. It's only a starting point: adjust it for the size of your home, how many adults can help and what your child wants.
How do you work out how much cake and food to get?
Count one slice of cake per person, children and adults included, and add a few spare slices. Put out light options like fruit, mini sandwiches and cookies alongside so the sweets don't stand alone.
What should you watch for in terms of safety at a kids' party?
Pieces of popped balloons are a choking hazard for young children, so clear them up straight away and don't let little ones put balloons in their mouths. Keep lit candles and hot food out of reach, and don't give party bag items with small parts to under-threes.
Can I change the list?
Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.
Do I need an account?
No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.
How long is the list kept?
As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.
Can I install it on my phone?
Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
