Sangria recipe — a pitcher of red wine and fruit
Sangria is the easiest drink for a crowded table: you make one pitcher and the fridge does the rest. Copy the ingredients to your room, tick off what's missing at the shop, and keep the steps open on your phone.
6 glasses · 15 min + resting
In short
Sangria takes 750 ml red wine, 2 oranges, 1 apple, 1 lemon, 60 ml brandy, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 cinnamon stick and 250 ml soda water, and makes about 6 glasses. Mix the fruit with the sugar, brandy and cinnamon in a pitcher, add the wine and chill for at least 2 hours. Add the soda at serving time. Preparation takes about 15 minutes.

Ingredients
- Red wine1 bottle (750 ml)
- Oranges2 (juice one)
- Apple1
- Lemon1
- Brandy60 ml, optional
- Sugar2 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick1
- Soda water250 ml, at serving
- Icefor serving
Method
Wash one orange and the lemon and cut them into thin rounds. Juice the second orange; you should get about 100 ml. Dice the apple into small cubes.
Put the slices, apple, sugar, brandy and cinnamon stick into a large pitcher and stir with a long spoon until the sugar begins to dissolve.
Add the orange juice and the wine and stir once more.
Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours; 4 hours is better. If the fruit sits for more than 24 hours it goes soft and the flavour turns heavy.
Before serving, take out the cinnamon stick and taste; add another spoonful of sugar if needed.
Add the soda water at the last moment so it doesn't go flat. Pour over ice with some of the fruit.

Frequently asked questions
Which wine is best for sangria?
A young, fruity red with low tannins works best; it blends well with the fruit and spices. You don't need to spend much, but a wine too poor to drink on its own won't be rescued by the fruit.
How long should sangria rest?
At least 2 hours, ideally 4, in the fridge so the fruit can flavour the wine. Beyond 24 hours the fruit goes soft and the taste turns heavy; the soda is always added at serving time.
How do I make a non-alcoholic sangria?
Use dark red grape juice instead of wine, leave out the brandy and let the same fruit steep with the cinnamon. Add soda water at serving time; if it turns out too sweet, a squeeze of lemon or more soda balances it.
Can I change the list?
Of course. The ready-made list is just a starting point: delete, add, move items between categories.
Do I need an account?
No. A room code is all it takes — no email, password or signup.
How long is the list kept?
As long as you use it. A list is only deleted after a month without any activity; even opening the room resets the clock.
Can I install it on my phone?
Yes. With the room open, tap "Save Room" to add it to your home screen and open it with one tap.
